WHAT'S NEW AT MARY'S PLACE

Everybody agrees Mary's is a hot spot for live entertainment, but did you know Mary's is also the best place to watch any kind of sporting event? People are always drinking and talking about sports at Mary's Place. Come to the oldest bar in Rockford and experience all the games on the Mary's big screen -- pumping through a state-of-the-art BOSE surround sound system.
Cub fans love to watch games at Mary's because Mary's Place is an official Chicago Cubs bar. You can always see someone sporting Cub gear at Mary's regardless of the time of year. Often times guys will be bumping around the bar with Cub gear on, in heated discussions about baseball, asking for the opinion of Cubs' expert and scholar, Jay, the Mary's bartender. Jay is a huge Cubs fan and a great person to talk to about sports in general, specializing in Chicago sports knowledge and trivia.

Help Becky celebrate her 20th anniversary as owner of Mary's Place with 2 rip roarin' nights of Rollin' in the Hay this Thursday and Friday! Becky has done a great deal to bring amazing live entertainment to the city of Rockford over the years. The HAY wins over every single person that ever comes in contact with their live show which is one of the reasons Becky just had to have the good ol' boys from Birmingham for this very special celebration. If you have ever enjoyed live music at Rockford's oldest bar, check out the HAY. You'll be glad you did!
Straight out of Birmingham, Alabama, Rollin' in the Hay not only spearheaded the whole bluegrass live scene at Mary's, the HAY paved the way for the "Newgrass" revolution. Their music has been described as "Groove Grass", "Renegade Bluegrass", and even "Redneck Speed Metal!" These seasoned pros from Birmingham take brilliant vocal harmonies and mind-blowing musicianship, crank up the tempo to a breakneck speed, and play bluegrass music with the attitude and energy of rock stars. Crowds from all over are drawn to Mary's, seeking out this one-of-a-kind musical experience.

Local reggae sensations, The Reggie, have rocketed to the absolute top of Rockford's live music scene. The group has a serious reputation for creating explosive reggae dance parties. They have started their own production company, Reggae Jackson Productions, and they won the RAMI for their musical excellence in the world music category. These award winning artists include the visionary Robby Red Locks, the mysterious and captivating Ras Paul, the binge drinking drumming anomaly Toast, and many more of Rockford's finest!
